Jeannette Kerner, longtime stage and screen actress, a charter member of SAG, and mother of film producer Jordan Kerner, died Fridayof natural causes at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. She was 85.
A native of Omaha, she came to Hollywood in 1936 as a student at the Art Center College of Design in costume and fashion design. She began taking voice and acting lessons at the same time and became a charter member of the Screen Actors Guild that same year. She married physician Jerry Kerner in 1939.
A sampling of her film credits inlcludes “History Is Made at Night” (1937), “Less Than Zero” (1987), “Funny About Love” (1990), “The Mighty Ducks” (1992), “D2: The Mighty Ducks” (1994) and “D3: The Mighty Ducks” (1996).
She also appeared in several TV movies/miniseries incuding “My First Love” (1988), “Backfield in Motion” (1988), “Naomi and Wynonna: Love Can Build a Bridge” (1995).

In addition to her son Jordan, she is survived by son Jeffrey and four granddaughters.
A service will be held at noon on Thursday at Hillside Memorial Park, L.A.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in her name be made to the Humane Society (SPCA/LA), 5026 West Jefferson Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90016.
