Jennifer Lawrence has opened up about how vulnerable she felt during the celebrity phone hacking scandal back in 2014, which saw nude pictures of herself released globally online.

The 27-year-old Oscar-winner revealed that she was still processing the violating experience on The Hollywood Reporter's Awards Chatter Podcast released on Monday.

"I don't know, I feel like I got gang-banged by the f***ing planet," she said. "Like, there's not one person in the world that is not capable of seeing these intimate photos of me."

She added: "You can just be at a barbecue and somebody can just pull them up on their phone. That was a really impossible thing to process."

Lawrence was among a host of other stars including Kate Upton, Cara Delevingne, Rihanna, Amber Heard and Ariana Grande who were targeted by Apple iCloud hackers and had their nude photos leaked from August 2014.

At the time, JLaw described the event as a "sex crime" however, she chose not to sue. Explaining her decision on the podcast, she said: "A lot of women were affected, and a lot of them reached out to me about suing Apple or suing - and none of that was gonna really bring me peace, none of that was gonna bring my nude body back to me and Nic [Lawrence's former boyfriend and X-Men co-star Nicholas Hoult], the person that they were intended for."

She continued: "It wasn't gonna bring any of that back. So I wasn't interested in suing everybody; I was just interested in healing."

Lawrence spoke out about the incident for the first time in her cover interview with Vanity Fair for its November 2014 issue.

She said: "It is a sexual violation. It's disgusting. The law needs to be changed, and we need to change. That's why these websites are responsible. Just the fact that somebody can be sexually exploited and violated, and the first thought that crosses somebody's mind is to make a profit from it."

She added: "It's so beyond me. I just can't imagine being that detached from humanity. I can't imagine being that thoughtless and careless and so empty inside."

It is a sexual violation. It's disgusting. The law needs to be changed, and we need to change.

The actress also said that she attempted to compose a statement when news of the photo hacking broke, but "every single thing that I tried to write made me cry or get angry."

She continued, "I started to write an apology, but I don't have anything to say I'm sorry for. I was in a loving, healthy, great relationship for four years. It was long distance, and either your boyfriend is going to look at porn or he's going to look at you."

I didn't tell you that you could look at my naked body.

"Anybody who looked at those pictures, you're perpetuating a sexual offense. You should cower with shame. Even people who I know and love say, 'Oh, yeah, I looked at the pictures.' I don't want to get mad, but at the same time I'm thinking, I didn't tell you that you could look at my naked body," Lawrence said.

Jen told the magazine that she has moved on: "Time does heal, you know. I'm not crying about it anymore. I can't be angry anymore. I can't have my happiness rest on these people being caught, because they might not be. I need to just find my own peace."
