Oh, beauty blender! How did we live without you?
The humble sponge has the ability to perfectly apply our foundation, blend our concealer and smooth on our serums, but how often do you clean yours? One a month, if that? You may want to sit down for this revelation.
According to the makers of the much-loved sponge, you should be cleaning it after every single use. Gasp!
Revealing how to use and maintain the sponge, the founders shared the 'wet.squeeze.bounce' method. This is how it works...
1. Wet: Wet the beauty blender with water.
2. Squeeze: Squeeze out the excess liquid, using a towel if available.
3. Bounce: Foundation, powder or any other complexion product across the face for flawless results.
4. Cleanse: After each use to help maintain the integrity of the blender's exclusive material replace.
"We recommend replacing your beauty blender every three months," they added.
Anyone else going to be giving their beauty blender a good old scrub tonight?

We are ALL about beauty hacks to make our lives easier and our utensils cleaner and who better than the queen of clean, Mrs Hinch herself, to teach us?
Mrs Hinch's followers begged her for a quick hack for thoroughly cleaning their beauty blenders and she came up with a pretty genius option; all you need is a washing machine, a sock and a hairband.
All you need to do is pop your dirty beauty blenders inside a sock and tie it up with a hairband and throw it in the washing machine with the rest of your wash load. Voila.
The before and after pictures speak for themselves, really...
We also recently stumbled across an AMAZING thread on Reddit about how to clean a beauty blender, we were ready to feel the same level of satisfaction that Dr Pimple Popper must experience on the daily.
Because we all know that no matter how much you clean your blenders, they're never completely residue-free. And, of course, with all those terrifying videos of people cutting them in half to reveal all sorts of grime, we're keen to keep ours clean. So, what did the people of Reddit teach us?
You can use your microwave to clean them. Come again? User mtgrace wrote,
"Weirdest tip I’ve ever heard - but actually does a pretty good job"
"Half fill a mug/cup with water and squirt some dish soap in! Pop in the beauty blender and put in the microwave for 1 minute. Really gets a lot of the makeup out!"
"(Disclaimer to be careful when touching the blender when it’s first come out of the microwave because it is boiling hot)."
ghostly_kitten agreed, saying that she uses this tactic, too:
"This is what I do too!"
"Pro tip: Don't forget it sitting in the microwave overnight. I did this once and it absorbed basically the entire mug of water and no matter how long I dried it out for, it never went back to a normal size. I accidentally DIYed a body blende[r] before it was mainstream."
People were beside themselves with amazement and same, tbh.
